#1 Now Send Bold, Italics Or Strikethrough Text In WhatsApp
- For Sending a Bold Text just add an asterisk (*) before and after the text. For example *Hi*
- For sending an Italics Text just add an Underscore (_) before and after the text . For example _Hi_
- For sending a Strikethrough text Just add a tilde (~) before and after the text. For example ~Hi~
#2 To change the font of your WhatsApp messages
Use the ` symbol three times either side of the word. For example, “`Hello“`. The symbol – not to be mistaken with ‘ – is available on the Android keyboard, but isn’t on the standard iOS one. If you’re using an Apple device for WhatsApp you can copy and paste this “` and use it either side of the word.
#3 Red Hear Icon Expands And Animate
Yes, you will try this at least once in your whatsApp Messanger after knowing it. I am sure that you will send this to your crush after knowing it.
The red heart emoji on WhatsApp expands and animate like a beating one. Try it.
#4 Bookmark important messages
Some messages are more important than others. Whether it’s a mobile number, address or any message you can mark as Star and it will be saved in the starred messages and you review those messages whenever you need it.
iOS: Chats > Specific chat > Specific message > Double tap or hold down and press the star
Android: Chats > Specific chat > Specific message > Hold down and press the star
You can view those messages in the Starred Messages Folder in settings. It has helped me a lot without any ambiguity of other messages.
#5 Find who you talk to most
Yes, you can find the person who you chat and spend most of the time. Who is really your favourite person? He/she is the person have the importance in your life. On iOS, there is a way to find the people you send the most messages to and how much storage each person takes up, among other things.
iOS: Settings > Account > Storage Usage > Select Contact
#6 Know When He Or She Read Your Message
Think the double-blue ticks are the worst thing to happen to relationships since Tinder? Think again. Here’s another way you could annoy your loved ones. In addition to finding out the exact time your messages are delivered, you can also choose to see the exact time your message was read (assuming you choose to stick with the ticks).
Go to any of your WhatsApp chats, tap and hold on any of the messages you’ve sent in that chat, followed by the Info option. For iOS users, you can also drag towards the left to reveal a window which will show the time your message was delivered and subsequently read.
It works for group messages too, with the window listing the time each participant read the message.
#7 Send All Your Conversation To Your Email
Sometimes you feel some chats have important info and you want to save in the safe place. So here their exist one feature of saving the chat safe in your Email account, WhatsApp lets you do that easily.
Android: press hold on a chat and you will get an option to “Email chat”
iOS: You will have the “Email chat” option in “More” when you swipe left on a chat. You can also send the media on WhatsApp as email attachments.
#8 VISUAL REMINDERS
In a moment, you feel that the chat has to be review once again when you find free time. So here we have one feature to remind us.
Just swipe any of your chats to the right and the option to Mark as unread will show up. Tap on it and a blue dot will appear on the chat as a visual marker. Once you’re done with it, just swipe the chat to the right to unmark it. Simple.
#9 Save Your Mobile Data Usage By Stopping Auto Media Download
As you have a whatsApp messenger, nowadays there exist many groups like ‘School_friends’, Collage_friends’, ‘Colony_friends’ etc… As you know in Groups, lots of people share images and videos. If you even not using that group that images and videos will be automatically downloaded in your mobile. So it will indirectly use your Mobile Data to download it. You can easily stop it to download data automatically. Go to Setting – Data Usage – When using mobile data – Uncheck all.
Go to Setting – Data Usage – When using mobile data – Just Uncheck all using cellular data(Select only wifi i.e, it downloads automatically only when using the Wifi else you can select Never option)
#10 Backup And Restore WhatsApp Chats
WhatsApp makes automatic backups of your chats, but you can also make a manual backup.
iOS, Settings > Chat Settings > Chat Backup, then tapBack Up Now.
On Android, just go to Settings > Chat settings and tap Backup conversations to create a backup. This won’t backup your media, so you’ll need to use a file manager to copy the media folders in/sdcard/WhatsApp/Media.
If you wish, can schedule the Automatic backup as Daily/Weekly/Monthly. Select one option among them.
There’s no way to restore chats directly from WhatsApp, so if you want to restore a backup you’re going to have to uninstall and reinstall WhatsApp. When you start WhatsApp after the reinstall, you should be prompted to restore your most recent backup. Just follow the procedure and your chats should all be back.
#11 Hide ‘Last seen’, profile photo and status
Sometimes you don’t want to share your profile pic, status & Status with others. Then you can secure it by providing privacy to it.
- Go to Settings > Account > Privacy
- Go through the Last seen, Profile photo, and Status options, then set their visibility to ‘Everyone‘, ‘My contacts‘ or ‘Nobody‘, depending on how much privacy you want
#12 Mute annoying WhatsApp group chats
We’ve all been in that position where we’ve somehow been dragged into a group chat that we either didn’t really want to be in in the first place or just don’t want to receive notifications from every couple of minutes.Rather than just leave the chat, which may offend some people, you can simply mute the chat so you stop receiving notifications from it.
In WhatsApp, >Chats tab >Tap the group you want to mute > tap the Options icon at the top right/tap on group name >Tap Mute option, then select the amount of time you want to mute the group for(i.e, 8hours/1week/1year). And if you don’t want you can unmute also.
#13 Send private messages in bulk, BCC-style
Want to send out a group message without everyone in the group seeing who else received that message, and then seeing every subsequent response to the message? That’s what the Broadcast feature is for, and using it is simple:
Android: Tap the Options icon at the top right (three dots)>New broadcast>Enter the names of all the contacts you want to send your private message to>Tap Create, write your message, then send it
iOS: WhatsApp >chats_tab >broadcasr lists>new list>select the contacts you want to send the personal messgage>type the message> send
